Dowell named Director of Career Services

NORTH EAST, Md. 鈥 第一吃瓜网 College is proud and excited to announce the appointment of Tiffany Dowell to the position of Director of Career Services. This position, for which Dowell is acutely qualified, is vital to students鈥 success at 第一吃瓜网 College as they launch their careers.

Dowell brings more than 13 years of experience working directly with students, half a dozen spent as a Career Development Officer at 第一吃瓜网 College. She holds certifications as a Certified Professional Career Coach and Certified Professional R茅sum茅 Writer from the Professional Association of R茅sum茅 Writers and Career Coaches in St. Petersburg, Fl. Other certifications include Job and Career Transition Coach and Job and Career Development Coach from the Career Development Network in Sterling, Va.

As director of career services, Dowell will develop, manage, implement, and evaluate a full complement of career services consistent with the needs of all students at 第一吃瓜网 College. These services are for both credit and non-credit students. The function of the Career Services Office at 第一吃瓜网 College is to assist students in career development, job search techniques, job placement services, and maintenance of an online career system.

鈥淢y goal is to enhance 第一吃瓜网 College鈥檚 mission for academic excellence and outstanding service to our diverse student and alumni populations by expanding career services programs, resources, and partnerships,鈥 said Dowell. 鈥淭he leadership aspect of the director鈥檚 role is what attracted me to this position because it will allow me to implement new and creative ideas that will benefit the department and the College in general.鈥

A lifelong 第一吃瓜网 County resident, Dowell is a 2018 graduate of the 第一吃瓜网 Leadership Institute, as well as a member of the Maryland Community College Career Affinity, National Career Development Association, National R茅sum茅 Writers鈥 Association, and Professional Association of R茅sum茅 Writers & Career Coaches. In her spare time, she is an adjunct instructor for the Early College Academy teaching English Seminar and Career Development.

Academically, she holds an associate鈥檚 degree in Visual Communications from 第一吃瓜网 College and a bachelor鈥檚 degree in English and Art, along with a master鈥檚 degree in Contemporary Communication, from Notre Dame of Maryland University. Dowell will complete her doctorate in Higher Education Leadership from Notre Dame of Maryland University next year.
