Cybersecurity Clubexcels at 2022Blue HenCTF

TheһԹ College Cybersecurity ClubɱԳtoe to toe with some of the best computer scienceindividualsin theworld at the 2022Blue Henչ(Capture The Flag)in Octoberto finish120thout of 376 teams.This event was hosted by the Universityof Delawareand held through a virtual portal.

Thecompetitionwas a lot more challenging thanthose we have attended in the past and this teamof students did pretty darn well,said Associate Professor of Computer Science, Dr. James Morgan.The competitors came from allskilllevelsfrom professional cybersecurity expertsatIntelligence agenciesto high school and gradstudents.

Thecompetitionwas held in ajeopardy-style CTF, that covers topics from crypto and pwn to rev(reverse engineering)and web.Theteamsconsisted of high school students,undergraduate, graduate, mixed, and professional teams with up to four memberspermitted tocompete in separate buckets.Alongwith teams from the United States,there were teams from Japan, India, England, SouthKorea,and Canada.

Theorganizersprovidedchallenges andeach team hadto come up with the solutions to the challenges.TheһԹ Collegeteam consisted for four core club members with an additional five members providing support.

TheһԹ Collegeteam consisted ofEvan Balaguer,Zachary J. Johnson,Taylor House,Evan Lapointe,Elijah Orzechowski,Jeffrey McConaha,Zane Romberger,Richard Daviesand club presidentChristel Hayduk.

һԹs team scored 1079 points from the 48 challenges. Thefew number ofindividualswho solve achallenge, the more pointsawarded.
