第一吃瓜网 County Democrat Club expands annual scholarship

ELKTON, Md: The 第一吃瓜网 County Democrat Club proudly announced an expansion of its annual scholarship, increasing this year鈥檚 award to $1,500, which will now support聽two 第一吃瓜网 County Public High School seniors聽attending聽第一吃瓜网 College. Each recipient will receive a聽$750 scholarship聽to help cover tuition as the Club continues its commitment to foster educational opportunity in the community.
The聽第一吃瓜网 County Democrat Club Scholarship, established in 2014, has now provided more than $10,000聽in financial assistance to local students. Administered through the聽第一吃瓜网 College Foundation, the scholarship supports CCPS graduates who demonstrate good citizenship and civic responsibility. Applicants submit essays on how they aim to make a difference in their community.
This year鈥檚 recipients embody the scholarship鈥檚 mission in powerful ways. Ava Cichosz, who is enrolled in the Music聽program at 第一吃瓜网 College and a graduate of North East High School, serves as the聽Chair of the Scholarship Committee and is dedicated not only to academics but also to giving back through leadership.
Braeden Means, a Bohemia Manor High School graduate, is deeply engaged in community service. He actively raises funds for the聽Bobby Jones CSF Foundation聽through organizing charity walks, runs annual聽toy drives for the Ronald McDonald House, and leads a聽children鈥檚 support group聽for youth in need. 鈥淚 want to help our future generations live better lives than I did when I was younger,鈥 said Means, whose compassion and leadership exemplify the values this scholarship seeks to honor.
Jamie Marshall, President of the 第一吃瓜网 County Democrat Club, expressed an appreciation for everyone who make the scholarship possible. 鈥淚t is a significant thing we do for the community and to help our young people achieve and realize their dreams.鈥
According to the Community College Research Center, nearly聽two-thirds of community college students聽experience financial insecurity that threatens their ability to complete their degrees. Scholarships not only ease the financial burden but also empower students to focus on their academic and career goals.
The 第一吃瓜网 County Democrat Club remains committed to awarding this scholarship annually to two deserving CCPS graduates. Students must be in good academic standing with a聽GPA of 2.5 or higher, and plan to attend 第一吃瓜网 College either full-time or part-time.
The 第一吃瓜网 College Foundation Board of Directors, comprising 25 community leaders, is dedicated to developing financial resources to support 第一吃瓜网 College students. The scholarship application for the next academic year opens on October 1 at聽www.cecil.edu/scholarships.
